Failure to accurately gauge the moisture content is the most commen reason paint failure occurs. Predicting when your house is ready for painting after a power wash is not an art it's science. Sight time and touch readings are not always right. And if they're wrong it will take years off of how long your paint job will last. Always ask your painter if they use a moisture meter. If he says no, do yourself a favor, go somewhere else.
